Types and Causes of Schizophrenia

Schizophrenia is a psychological disorder in which reality is distorted due to a thought problem. Sudden and unwanted emotional and behavioral disorders occur when people with schizophrenia disconnect from reality. This lifelong mental illness can be controlled with the right treatment.

Types of Schizophrenia

– Paranoid Schizophrenia: Paranoid schizophrenic individuals approach those around them with extreme anger and suspicion. They claim to experience events that do not really exist.

– Disorganized Schizophrenia: The reason it is most dangerous in schizophrenia types is that it tends to appear at an early age. Inappropriate emotional symptoms, laughter, and strange behavior are characteristic.

– Catatonic Schizophrenia (Residual): Catatonic schizophrenia patients display an unusual posture, remain immobile for a long time and are extremely insensitive to their environment. Repeating the other person’s words and imitating their behavior are among the symptoms.

– Undifferentiated Schizophrenia: Refers to people who cannot be classified in any category for patients with schizophrenia symptoms.

– Hebephrenic Schizophrenia: Patients with Hebephrenic schizophrenia are confused and have inconsistent behavior; they make meaningless conversations. They have difficulty meeting their physiological needs and generally display erratic behaviors.

Causes of Schizophrenia

Schizophrenia occurs when the person has a genetic predisposition and experiences more stress than they can bear. It is a mental illness that is more common in men than women.

– Psychoanalytic theories: It states that the cause of schizophrenia is that the demands of the id cannot be met as a result of the damage to the ego and the individual exhibits childish behaviors accordingly.

– Behavioral theories: Focus on how behaviors are effective in the emergence of behavioral symptoms of schizophrenia, observing their environment and reinforcing what they learn.

– Cognitive theories: They treat schizophrenia as an irrational way of thinking.

These individuals, who lose their perception of reality from time to time, may experience confusing hallucinations, hear or even feel them.
