Instagram Announces New Features for Live Streaming

Instagram will launch the scheduling feature for the Live Streaming mode.

Instagram seems to have stepped up to release new features after the big outage last week. The app began testing a new feature earlier this week in the US to alert users of outages and technical issues. Instagram is also rolling out a new Account Status tool that lets users see if their accounts are at risk of being disabled, how their content has been distributed, and if it has been removed. The app has now announced a new feature for users who create Live Stream content that allows them to schedule upcoming live streams.

Instagram states in a recent tweet that the new Schedule Live feature has begun rolling out to users, and will allow Live Broadcast creators to schedule their live streams up to 90 days in advance. Once users have scheduled a live event, they will be able to share it via Stories and Stream posts. Followers, on the other hand, will see options to set reminders for upcoming live broadcasts on such posts and will receive a notification when the live broadcast is about to begin.

The app also tells TechCrunch that it is working on a new tool that will help Live Stream content creators join their guests ahead of a scheduled live event to test their connections, lighting, and manage other pre-show preparations. The tool, which is called “Practice mode” in accordance with its features, has been under development since December last year. The vehicle was first noticed by Alessandro Paluzzi. Paluzzi also offers a screenshot of the vehicle to users with a tweet.

Finally, it should be noted that Instagram does not share any timeline for Practice mode.
