Starlink Satellites Will Now Be Positioned In Lower Orbit

SpaceX has received new approval from the US Federal Communications Board for Starlink satellites. The company owned by Elon Musk will be able to position Starlink satellites closer to the world.

Elon Musk, with the statement he made in February, said that they would double the speed of Starlink satellite internet. SpaceX, which has been working on this for a while, recently made an application to the US Federal Communications Board to position Starlink satellites closer to the surface. This application of the company was accepted despite objections from competitors.

SpaceX had previously received approval from the FCC to position Starlink satellites in orbits at an altitude of 1150 kilometers. In this direction, a total of 1400 Starlink satellites were positioned in orbits at this specified height.

The company, which has received another approval from the American Fedaral Communication Board, is now preparing to place its 2814 Starlink satellite in orbits at an altitude of 550 kilometers. Thanks to this, Starlink satellite internet speed is expected to increase to 300 Mb / s and latency to 20 ms.

As you know, it turned out that SpaceX is conducting some studies to provide broadband internet service for planes and ships as well as land vehicles in the USA. It was pointed out that the company, which aims to provide broadband internet service to the users even on the move thanks to the Starlink satellites, will be limited to the USA in the first place.

In addition, Elon Musk has also announced that Starlink satellite internet will be accessible from most parts of the world until the end of 2021.
